Step 1: Physical & Electrical InspectionMultimeter & Visual

Action: Disconnect electrical power, open oven door, and locate the temperature probe rod in upper left or right rear corner of oven cavity.

Bench Test: Unscrew 2 mounting screws, gently pull probe into oven to expose plastic molex plug, and disconnect sensor.

Expected Standard: Probe tip straight, ceramic insulator uncracked, wire insulation intact.

If Failed / Out of Spec:

Replace damaged oven RTD temperature sensor probe (316217002).

If Passed:

Proceed to Step 2.

Step 2: Physical & Electrical InspectionMultimeter & Visual

Action: Measure electrical resistance across the two probe harness terminals at room temperature (77°F).

Bench Test: Connect digital multimeter set to 2,000 ohms range across probe terminals.

Expected Standard: Approximately 1,080 to 1,090 ohms (1.08k–1.09k Ω) at 77°F.

If Failed / Out of Spec:

Probe resistance is less than 900 ohms (shorted internally). Replace oven sensor probe (316217002).

If Passed:

Proceed to Step 3.

Step 3: Physical & Electrical InspectionMultimeter & Visual

Action: Inspect sensor wiring harness from probe connector through rear chassis up to the EOC board.

Bench Test: Check for fiberglass insulation abrasion where wires route past sharp sheet-metal edges.

Expected Standard: 0 ohms wire continuity with infinity resistance to chassis ground.

If Failed / Out of Spec:

Repair shorted wire touching bare sheet metal frame.

If Passed:

Proceed to Step 4.

Step 4: Physical & Electrical InspectionMultimeter & Visual

Action: Measure sensor input pins directly on the EOC board.

Bench Test: Measure resistance across pins on the board with sensor plugged in.

Expected Standard: Matches sensor probe reading (1,080–1,090 Ω).

If Failed / Out of Spec:

Replace electronic oven control clock board (316455410).

If Passed:

Perform bake calibration test.
