Sequential Factory Diagnostic Tree

Perform each diagnostic step in order. Disconnect electrical power and turn off utility shutoffs before inspecting wiring or internal mechanical assemblies.

Step 1: Physical & Electrical InspectionMultimeter & Visual
Action: Disconnect dishwasher power, remove right-side panel and base access cover to expose the wash heat pump assembly.
Bench Test: Unplug the 3-pin heating connector from heat pump and measure resistance across the two main heater terminals using a digital multimeter set to 200 ohms.
Expected Standard: Normal resistance is between 19.0 and 24.0 ohms at room temperature (70°F).
If Failed / Out of Spec:

Resistance reads 0L / infinity (open circuit). Replace wash heat pump heater assembly (12008381).

If Passed:

Proceed to Step 2.

Step 2: Physical & Electrical InspectionMultimeter & Visual
Action: Inspect the integrated NTC dual-thermistor sensor terminals on the heat pump casing.
Bench Test: Measure resistance across both NTC thermistor pairs at room temperature (77°F).
Expected Standard: Approximately 10,000 ohms (10k) per thermistor pair, dropping as temperature rises.
If Failed / Out of Spec:

Thermistor circuit drifted or open. Replace heat pump assembly (12008381).

If Passed:

Proceed to Step 3.

Step 3: Physical & Electrical InspectionMultimeter & Visual
Action: Inspect the heavy-gauge red heater wiring harness from heat pump to the main power module in rear base.
Bench Test: Perform end-to-end continuity check on heater power leads and inspect spade terminals for heat discoloration or melting.
Expected Standard: 0 ohms continuity; clean copper pins with zero oxidation or melting.
If Failed / Out of Spec:

Repair harness wiring harness or replace power lead connector (00624026).

If Passed:

Proceed to Step 4.

Step 4: Physical & Electrical InspectionMultimeter & Visual
Action: Inspect the main control power module located in the right lower rear base casing.
Bench Test: Examine heater relay solder joints on the circuit board for brown burn marks or desoldered relay pins.
Expected Standard: Relays intact, no scorched board traces, relay coils energize on 12V test.
If Failed / Out of Spec:

Replace main power control module (11028637).

If Passed:

Clear control error log via service diagnostic test cycle.
